Uranus entered Taurus last year for the first time since 1942. This current Taurus transit will last until 2026, then Uranus will spend 8 years in Gemini, then Cancer, and so on and so forth.

Uranus turns retrograde for five months every year. From August 2019 through the New Year of 2020, Uranus is retrograde in Taurus. During this time, we will review all the lessons presented by Uranus in Taurus since the end of April 2019. The bull represents home, money and material resources. With Uranus in Taurus we are moving away from old-fashioned models which exacerbate socioeconomic divisions. So far Uranus in Taurus has manifested most obviously in exponential resistance to single-use plastic. Obsolete industries, such as those reliant on fossil fuels, will perform miserably during this retrograde. The wise will invest in renewable energy or newly discovered (waste-free) resources.

Uranus is social and collective in nature. With Uranus Retrograde in Taurus, it is time to pool our capital. Wealth shall no longer belong to the individual, but to the community. This is true also of cohabitation. We will live together more and more, sharing land and dwellings. With proper allocation, we have everything we need. Let’s reimagine what it means to be rich.

Retrograde cycles uproot jobs, relationships, perspectives and behaviors which have calcified over time and no longer represent our highest vibration / what we need / who we are. You may feel more restless during the coming months, but certainly not lost. New levels of conscious awareness are rapidly attained under such conditions. Uranus systematically peels everything away until we are finely honed, independent badasses.

Uranus Retrograde lifts long-forgotten veils, dusty drapes concealing incendiary, insurrectionary spirits, oh how they pulse and quiver, how they line our veins and beg to be liberated. It is time to identify them, but not necessarily incorporate or utilize them quite yet. During Uranus Retrograde we reexamine our inner rebel nature. When Uranus turns direct again, we set the newly hatched rebel free - when the subtle restraints and inhibitions of the retrograde have faded into the solid earth.

The date I am really excited to discuss is Dec 15 (my mom and brother’s birthday <3) - on this day, Uranus Retrograde will form an auspicious trine to Jupiter in Capricorn! Jupiter will be very fresh in Capricorn - less than 2 weeks into his cycle there. Taurus and Capricorn are both earth signs, so this trine definitely speaks of earthly stability and abundance. However, the planetary archetypes of Jupiter and Uranus are not at all related to earth. They belong respectively to the energies of Sagittarius (Jupiter - mutable fire) and Aquarius (Uranus - fixed air). In fact they are antithetical to the nature of earth, but that’s what makes this meeting so exciting - they will bring a new and different perspective to the earthen table. Especially with Uranus involved, whatever happens is unexpected (exciting) in nature. Since these are outer planets and their movements and effects operate on a long-term wave, nothing dramatic or singular will happen on this day. Instead conceptualize of this trine as a culmination of events, a subtle summation. This is a time of great luck and prosperity when it comes to financial and material endeavors. This is also a time of great professional prosperity, especially if you work in international or technological sectors. If you feel that your life has stagnated recently, this trine is for you. This is a great time to take risks, whether that involves a financial risk or simply stepping out of your normal life to go on an adventure or travel overseas. Jupiter and Uranus bring immense freedom to our daily life - let’s explore, expand our territory and turn inner restlessness into forward motion!
