Yet another Supermoon. Even New Moons qualify because, according to Richard Nolle’s definition, they can occur “with the moon at or near (within 90% of) its closest approach to Earth in a given orbit.” This phenomenon is also known as perigee.
The New Moon in Taurus is an earthy kiss, two hearts beating as one. Imagine a dwelling deep in the woods: leafy green vegetation, brilliant fruits, a cacophony of birdsong, rosy inhalation. Heart, mind and spirit interwoven like vibrant threads; a sense of eternal tranquility in the body. A suitable intention for this new moon: to be grateful for what is. This is the highest essence of the fixed modality – genuine appreciation for the plenitude that springs endlessly and perfectly from the center of centers.
Taurus is obstinate and matter-of-fact, even if she doesn’t know the facts. Or maybe she does but argues anyway, just because 🙂 Self-aware Taureans radiate profound warmth, peace and contentedness; they eat the sweet fruit of inner abundance and prosperity as they quietly, comfortably plod along.
Bask in the bright, full feeling that only Taurus can provide. Her real home and wealth lie within. If you seek happiness and comfort in the external world, you will inevitably discover that all you sense is merely a reflection of the Self. From the great poet Rumi: “Don’t worry about transient things. Think how the animals live.”
And now enough with the poetry. Time for the real implications.
At the Super New Moon in Aries I spoke about life as “freshly poured concrete.” Listen carefully because this concrete is settling now. The Aries cycle forced us to outline exactly what we want and where we need to go. Even if it doesn’t feel like it, you have chosen a direction - consciously or not. Look inside yourself once more before you start walking. Stand in front of the mirror and speak aloud your intentions. We need to be able to do this and feel nothing but joy - no fear or hesitation, not one iota.
It is absolutely essential that we stay grounded in our intuition. If you’re feeling impatient, wondering when things will pick up, an insatiable restlessness in the seat of your soul - these are signs that you need to move, and move quickly. Earth energy is heavy indeed; once the broad-shouldered bull collapses with a mighty sigh, good luck getting her up again. If you’re feeling that weight already, know that this is only the beginning. I don’t want to inspire fear, just motivate you to trust yourself. New moons help us to clear out and start over. It won’t be as effortless as last month’s new moon, but it is surely not impossible, and the Universe will support you indefinitely, I promise. To those who feel a soul need for colossal shift, FEAR NOT.
