The Sun in Cancer squares the moon in Aries. The moon will rise at midnight, peak at dawn and set at noon. If you view the moon at midnight, the Sun will be positioned directly beneath your feet. Staring at the moon during this time will align you so that you are looking right out (approximately) along the forward path of Earth’s orbit around the Sun ^__^

The Aries-Cancer square is between what we do and what we feel. Let’s look at the First Quarter Moon from mid-April, as this was a reversal of our current station (with the Sun in Aries and moon in Cancer). A few months ago we witnessed emotional expression (Cancer) concerning plans of an active/masculine nature (Aries). Now we put into motion the creative and spiritual ambitions that we previously expressed on a purely mental or verbal level. For example, physically moving to a new location based on insight gained through intuition or a healing conversation. We might host/organize/attend an alternative workshop involving art or divine feminine badassery. The First Quarter in Cancer was fraught with turbulent hearts striving for open communication and thoughtful consideration of all parties involved - only you know whether these efforts truly succeeded or just manifested as washed-out, inhibited attempts at humility and real understanding.

If you’re not satisfied with the results of this last juncture, we can do better :) The ram is here now to awaken the crab and fish her out of the water. The Last Quarter Moon in Aries is a fiery call. Let’s speak Truth without buckling beneath Cancer’s water-weight, or rather learn to see her as an ally, not a maudlin mother wringing crabby little pincers. Aries does not tolerate meekness. He adds combustibility to Cancer’s slow-flowing essence so that it may spiral to full realization. Without this, the crab remains comfortably fastened to her vivid dreamworld.

When I visualize Aries, I see a blood red sun rising over jagged mountains, a fateful mood soaking the sky. Aries is a bright compass in the darkness. The ram is also a creature of fire – reckless and temperamental one moment, spirited and excitable the next. He has a way of shutting the crab down, transforming her with just a few flippant words from an empowered goddess to a vulnerable child. But even crabs can climb mountains, and if you have something to say, then go ahead and say it, my sensitive lunar friends.

We have no control over what others hope to extract from us, but we can fortify our energetic walls and hold our head high, no matter the weather. We can sieve through the disingenuous. Luna’s waning light represents gradual descent into darkness: a return to the proverbial womb. Gracefully surrender. Release and forgive. Destroy useless internal edifices.

Now rear your horns and ascend.
